You can explicitly edit TEXT objects using ddEdit or you can select one TEXT object then right-click to invoke a shortcut instead.

then select Text Edit to change the selected TEXT object in the Edit Text dialogue box.
the shortcut will not be available if you select more than one TEXT object.

You can also use Properties to edit the text string of selected TEXT objects.

you can edit more properties (not just the string) this way such as the Style, Justification, Rotation, Height, etc..
if you select more than one TEXT object & enter new contents (new string) all selected TEXT objects will have the same string.

You can also explicitly edit MTEXT objects using ddEdit or select one MTEXT object & right-click to invoke a shortcut instead.

select the desired MTEXT object when no command is running and right-click in the drawing area to invoke a shortcut.
you can edit selected MTEXT in a dialogue box when you pick Mtext Edit (this invokes the Multiline Text Editor).
as with TEXT objects, this shortcut option is not available if you select more than one MTEXT object.

Close the drawing from the previous exercise if it is open.
Open the T110_7.dwg drawing in your personal folder.
Select the TEXT label near P1 & then right-click in the drawing area to invoke a shortcut. Pick Text Edit and type the word Sundial before “Error” and pick OK. Then press <enter> to complete the task

4- Make sure the last command is complete. (if you do not see “Command:” on the command line then press <enter>).

5- Select the MTEXT objects for the two leaders shown near P1 and P2 so they are highlighted.

6- Right-click in the drawing area to invoke a shortcut and pick Properties. Select the Contents property under the Text category (to display the button) and click on .

Properties may be docked or floating on your system (it is not important) but illustrations here show Properties floating.

– you used a shortcut to invoke Properties but you could have used the Properties command explicitly as well.

You selected more than one MTEXT object so you do not see MTEXT characters next to Contents right now.

– but you will see these MTEXT strings when you edit them in the Multiline Text Editor in the next two steps.

7- Change the word SLOW to behind and pick OK.

You modified both TEXT and MTEXT objects in this exercise.

you used a shortcut to edit text strings which you can do ONLY when there is one (TEXT or MTEXT) object selected and you used Properties which lets you select more than one object in the same command.
